Ravello
Types of transfer › Individual transferThe famous little town with 2.300 inhabitants perched on the Amalfi coast on a 374 m high rocky saddle. As is evident from an ancient document, Ravello was probably founded in the 6th century AD, the heyday was between the 10th and 13th Century. Already in 1086 the city became Episcopate (and remained so until 1818), the cathedral built at that time is now one of the most interesting buildings in the city. Another attraction for many visitors is the Villa Rufolo in Arab-Sicilian style, with a rich Moorish decoration; an imposing tower at the entrance of the villa gives it the character of a fortress. The Villa Rufolo (named so after the former owners) is enclosed in a beautiful garden, this inspired Richard Wagner to the musical depiction of "Klingsor's magic garden" in his "Parsifal". Each year in May and June are organized a series of concerts dedicated to Wagner. Also worth a visit is Villa Cimbrone with its magnificent gardens and the Belvedere Cimbrone, a vantage point that has no equal.
